School, 504, IDEA & your ADHD child
You're probably reading this because you're confused about what your school should offer your ADHD child, or you're angry that your school isn't providing accommodations for your ADHD child. You do have rights. These rights are given to you by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Typically, schools are not inclined to make special accommodations for your child unless he/she has an official diagnosis of ADHD. And even then, there are procedures, forms, meetings, etc.

Sample IEP
The following is a sample IEP that uses Play Attention as the
intervention used to reach specific student goals. Play Attention is
a fantastic intervention to use in an IEP because it addresses and
documents progress in a variety of cognitive skills and behaviors.
Each Play Attention level cited in the criterion section addresses
a different cognitive skill. The cognitive skills are as follows:
Level I, Sustained Attention
Level II, Visual Tracking
Level III, Time on Task
Level IV, Short Term Memory
Level V, Discriminatory Processing
